Why beef tallow?

Why Beef Tallow?

Beef tallow has a long and proud history as one of the most traditional and trusted fats for soap and skin care. For centuries, people have used animal fat, especially from beef and cattle, because it contains natural fatty acids that give soap a firm and durable structure – while also nourishing and protecting the skin.

The history of beef tallow

Beef tallow was an important raw material in many ancient craft traditions. It was readily available, durable and effective in creating genuine soap that both cleanses and nourishes the skin. Many generations have trusted in the properties of beef tallow, and it has proven its worth over time.

Properties of beef tallow in soap

Beef tallow is rich in stearic acid, which gives the soap hardness and stable foam. At the same time, it makes the soap emollient and supple, as the fatty acid composition resembles the skin's own fats. This makes beef tallow particularly suitable for dry and sensitive skin that needs extra care and protection.

My whipped tallow – modern care with the strength of tradition

I have further developed the classic beef tallow by whipping it into a light and airy whipped tallow, which makes it easy and comfortable to apply. But my whipped tallow does not only contain beef tallow.

I also add carefully selected plant oils to improve both care and consistency:

  • Olive oil adds extra moisture and nourishment, softens the skin and helps maintain the skin's natural barrier. It makes whipped tallow extra mild and effective, especially for dry and sensitive skin.

  • Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid, which provides moisture and protection, while creating a soft, creamy lather that makes application easy and comfortable.

Whipped tallow is for me the ultimate natural skincare – rich, soft and nourishing in a very special way. Tallow contains fatty acids that are similar to our skin's own oil, and the natural vitamins help strengthen and protect the skin.

Castor oil provides moisture that stays put. Some call castor oil “nature’s botox” because of its ability to stimulate collagen production and provide a firming effect. It also contributes anti-inflammatory properties and a light, creamy consistency that makes the product easy to apply and absorb.

The combination of beef tallow with olive and castor oil creates a nourishing, effective and luxurious skin care that feels light, melts on contact and leaves the skin soft and well-groomed.
